C&P B: The Arts
Curriculum & Pedagogy B:
The Arts
Our Arts course explores the Arts disciplines within the New Zealand Curriculum in an Aotearoa context. It focuses on creativity and connections across cultures, settings and other learning areas. We expose kaiako pitomata to practical learning experiences that they can adopt for the classroom as kaiako. The main emphasis is on being brave and journeying outside their comfort zones to realise the importance of The Arts in the NZC. Art fosters creativity, experimentation and innovation, it helps to develop imagination, self-expression, self-confidence and critical thinking.
